Deepwater Art Show

The Deepwater Art Show is an exhibition of regional and interstate artists. It was first held in 2006 with over 300 people attending the Opening Night and went on to be held in 2008, 2010 and 2014.

More than $11000 was raised for charity at the first event and the successive shows had equal success.

The Deepwater Art Show is staged by Deepwater Art Inc. a-not-for profit organisation which raises money for Deepwater charities and community groups while promoting art and music in Deepwater.

Deepwater Art and Pottery Group

Deepwater Art and Pottery Group

Deepwater Art and Pottery Group (DAPG) is housed in an old corrugated iron shed that was the original woolshed for shearing sheep and then goats. The shed is 15.5mts by 8mts. The floor space is divided into: pottery area (with 4 wheels), work space and a mezzanine area (not accessible by wheelchairs) which houses a meeting area, dining, kitchen and storage area. There is a 2 metre area on the north end for a kiln room. The wall space is extensive and is covered by paintings, pottery, wire works, and wood work.

Deepwater School of Arts Hall

Deepwater School of Arts Hall

The Deepwater Hall is a public utility managed as a Crown Land Site supervised and maintained by three local trustees. It has recently been fully refurbished. It has a well heated auditorium capacity of seating about 200. Three separate rooms are used as a library, for meetings and as a venue for handicraft and other groups. For over 100 years the hall has been the centre of the local community and multiplicity of events continue to occur here. Travelling shows regularly visit; The Deepwater Hall players have produced a biennial production over the last 45 years; wedding receptions, funeral, wakes, balls, dances, workshops, choir rehearsals, classes for children (ballet), school concerts fundraisers of all types, lectures, ceremonies such as the annual Anzac Day Memorial Service all that place here.
