Wilgabah is an operating farm with sheep, cattle, and alpacas. The 600-acre property also has a gallery and cafe which provide guests with the opportunity to paint or just enjoy the original art work on display at the gallery, while tasting the local produce in the cafe area.

Fishing for native silver perch in the well-stocked dams or a bushwalk through the 200 acres of endangered whitebox woodlands also provide relaxing ways to spend your weekend getaway.

The Rail Journeys Museum in Association with the Australian Rail Monument

The Australian Rail Monument is within the grounds of the Werris Creek Railway Station and is a memorial to those railway workers in Australia who died whilst at work on the railways. The memorial features six sculptures of different trades, designed and made by Dominique Sutton of Sydney.

The Rail Journeys Museum is housed in the Werris Creek Station Building, well-known in past years by travellers on the north and north western rail lines, as the Refreshment Room.

The museum is staffed by many volunteers and tells the stories of railway workers in days long gone.

The upstairs section of the Museum is now complete with many more exhibits to see and contains a magnificent model railway layout featuring Werris Creek. There is a lift for those that are not able to make the stairs.

The town of Werris Creek is also referred to as - The Town that never Sleeps, is the first and last town to be built in NSW for the railway and is strategically placed for the junctions required in the busy days of the railway.

Royal Theatre Quirindi

Royal Theatre Quirindi

The Royal Theatre in Quirindi began showing its first films in 1930 and continued for the next 76 years. While patronage was patchy at times, it was with great disappointment to the community that the last movie was shown in 2006 by the then owners who had spent considerable time and effort over the years to bring the big screen to Quirindi.

In 2008 the Liverpool Plains Shire Council purchased the building with the aim of restoring it to its former glory and grants from four different funding bodies were obtained to enable the project to proceed.

More than 50 volunteers also donated their time to clean up and paint the theatre to assist in keeping costs within budget. On April 13 2010 the Quirindi Royal Theatre officially opened and the following month the first live theatre performance was staged to a full house.

With the assistance of one of the Theatre’s former owners, John Mitchell, a group of volunteers was trained to operate the projection equipment and in the first week of September the Theatre resumed screening movies. Movies are now held every fortnight and on other weekends a variety of events are staged from live theatre to musical performances, school plays and fund raising activities.

The Theatre is operated by volunteers and the community has rediscovered a timeless treasure.
Open during events and film screenings and open by appointment.

Random Rural Art Gallery

Random Rural is a retiring farming wife's new occupation and studio. The ex stock and station building, yard and sheds are now exhibiting a wonderful collection of local talent and crafts as an outlet and meeting place. This is a service for fellow primary producers. $10 is the fee on any item or 50c under $10. Cash only goes to the talented creators who have mainly retired with hobbies and skills.

Various clubs use here for morning or afternoon tea meetings. Available is Coffee/Teas/Milo and homemade slice/biscuits for a coin donation to enjoy in the garden or back deck.
